Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. When her father left her family members, she was brought up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. When she was a young girl she was suffering from an obsessive compulsive disorder that caused anxiety due to the word association. Ford began acting during her teen years and joined an actor in the National Youth Theatre. Ford was accepted to Sylvia Young Theatre School but after just one week she realized that she didn't fit in. Ford later applied to be a student for the Central School of Speech and Drama and was accepted on her 4th attempt. Shaun Dingwall - who later appeared as Pete Tyler in Doctor Who was also one of Ford's classmates. Ford's debut on TV was a 1991 episode Surgical Spirit. By the when she finished her studies, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate was featured in a variety of television shows like The Bill, Men Behaving Badly, and London's Burning during the Nineties. She also worked regularly at the theater, ultimately being a part of with the Royal Shakespeare Company for its 2000-2001 season. Tate was recognized for her stand-up comedy and has been added to her portfolio in 1996.
