Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil was born July 12, 1988[1]. She is a Canadian singer and actress. O'Neil is the first Canadian female winner of Canadian Idol's 3rd season, won it in 2005. O'Neil is known for her role in Syfy's science-fiction series Dark Matter. O'Neil was popular for her character in The Rookie as Officer Lucy Chen. O'Neil was placed in the bottom two and three finals. The judges were shocked at this and advised viewers to decide to vote Melissa for her vocal talent. O'Neil's performances were constantly praised and O'Neil did not slip back into the bottom three. Zack Werner, the judge, called O'Neil "a threat to win the whole thing". On September 7, 2005, O'Neil made it to the final two of the show, competing alongside Goudie. Following many more spectacular performances and performances, judge Werner famously stated that the headlines in the next day's newspaper would read "The King, Kalan Porter has passed away and long live the Queen." O'Neil defeated Goudie during the grand finale results broadcast on September 14, 2005 to be named the third Canadian Idol.
