AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of the San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain for the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. The team made her professional debut and assisted the team in winning the league title. Morgan was 22 when she was selected to represent the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which they came out as runner-up. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal. She was the second player in the United States to have 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, which made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring player in the United States to achieve 20 goals in a single year. Morgan was later awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was selected to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
